Par ou impar? Como se diz isso em Ingles?

Pessoal, essa semana durante a aula, surgiu uma duvida: como dizer par ou impar em Ingles
Na hora, quando me perguntaram deu aquele no na cabeca... verdade..como dizer isso em Ingles.

Na verdade, eu sabia que ODDS = IMPAR e que EVENS= PAR , mas essa traducao literal
pode ser usada nesta situacao?

Dei minha resposta aos alunos: NAO SEI...vou procurar a resposta..eis ai o que descobri:

Vocês sabiam que a expressão Par ou Impar vem de um costume tipicamente brasileiro e então
não poderia ser traduzida como Odds or evens.

Mas então como se diz par ou impar em Inglês, como decidir algo se não tem par ou impar?...well...lá na terra do tio Sam, eles jogam uma moeda,  flip a coin ,e decidem no heads or tails, que equivale ao nosso cara ou coroa.

Heads or tails? cabeça ou rabo? Se diz tail porque um dos lados da moeda vem geralmente com a imagem de um pássaro.
